About Us

Welcome to our school

Clare Primary School is a mid-size rural school that provides public education for approximately 250 students from Reception to year 6. Clare Primary School is located 120kms north of Adelaide in the beautiful Clare Valley.

Our heritage listed frontage stands proud and strong and is a reminder of the quality education that has been provided on our site, for over 120 years. The school grounds are very spacious, well kept and attractive. In the last year, several buildings have been replaced and updated with a new Resource Centre and Computer suite taking pride of place. Interactive whiteboards in every room add a “cutting edge” dimension to the teaching and learning in Clare P.S. Furthermore, our staff of dedicated teachers link with new and innovative projects statewide and internationally.

Clare Primary School has a broad range of teaching and learning programs with specific focus on Literacy and Numeracy learning and building strong Student Communities. Staff uses a range of testing and intervention strategies in Literacy to monitor and support students in the key areas of Reading, Spelling and Writing. Whole school agreements in Literacy practice ensure that every student is supported to develop to their full potential.

Clare P.S. has a Regional Special Education Unit that caters for the learning needs of students with designated learning disabilities. These students are mainstreamed in the afternoon sessions to support their emotional and social growth.

Our values of caring, respect, fairness, responsibility, cooperation, honesty and doing your best continue to be embedded in the school culture. Extra curricula programs include SAPSASA, Life be in it, Music tuition and school band. The school offers Out of School Hours Care and Vacation Care services to the wider community beyond Clare township.
